What we test for
We screen for a full range of sexually transmitted infections, including:
- Chlamydia — urine sample or swab
- Gonorrhoea — urine sample or swab
- Syphilis — blood test
- HIV — blood test (results often same day)
- Hepatitis B & C — blood test
- Herpes (HSV-1 & HSV-2) — swab or blood test
- Trichomonas vaginalis — urine sample or swab
- Mycoplasma genitalium — urine sample
- HPV (Human Papillomavirus) — swab
Not sure which tests you need? Our doctors will take a full history and recommend the right panel for you — there’s no obligation to test for everything.
Full STI screen
For complete peace of mind, we offer a full sexual health screen covering all of the above infections in a single appointment. This is ideal if you have had a new partner, unprotected sex, or simply haven’t been tested recently.
How your samples are collected
We use a combination of sample types to ensure accurate results:
- Blood samples — for HIV, syphilis, hepatitis B & C, and herpes
- Urine samples — for chlamydia, gonorrhoea, trichomonas, and mycoplasma
- Swabs — for bacterial and viral infections, taken by a clinician or self-taken in a private room
All procedures are carried out with care and discretion. You can request a male or female doctor for your appointment.
Receiving your results
Your privacy is our priority. Before your appointment concludes, your clinician will agree with you how you’d like to receive your results — by phone, text, email, or letter. Most blood and urine results are returned within 2–5 working days. We will only contact your GP if you specifically request it.
Do you offer family planning services?
Our experienced doctors, many of whom have achieved specialist qualifications in this area of medicine, are happy to provide family planning information and advice. Barrier methods, oral contraceptives, injectable depot preparations, and intrauterine devices (IUS/IUCDs) are all available within the practice.
Do you offer advice on the menopause?
Our lead GP, Dr Jane Woyka – a highly accredited menopause specialist – is able to assess individual risks and benefits according to a patient’s personal and family medical history, in relation to their symptoms and quality of life.
